Varnish

Varnish on King St is the new craze. Hidden in an underground wine cellar, this place is comfy and cosy.

We tried to do a walk-in on a Friday night but they were fully booked, so we came back mid-week and it was definitely worth the second try.

Another tapas bar serving devine food.

The scallops were delicious but if you’re with a big group and everyone is hungry, this is a dish I wouldn’t recommend. It is more of a teaser to the tastebuds than anything else.

The deer meat wasn’t my favourite either, although healthy it just wasn’t very tasty.

You cannot go past the beef ribs served with mashed peas. So very tender, the meat literally just falls off the bone.

Oh and the featured image is a picture of rock salts they present to you on a wooden plank of wood. Trickle these over various foods and it just adds some zest to the already infused flavours.

How can you not love Perth with all these hidden gems!
